The river was an angry mistress today my friends, Not for the faiint of heart like Beetle, Grobert, MacFly, Spinner, LU, Moosekind, DC, Pete, Tomfry, and, well you get the picture. Those few of us, those hardy and skillful few, braved the elements and accomplished what others could not acheive. My modesty prevents me from going into detail so i will end here. (I threw in the beer pic to give it a Drake-ish feel and make Moosehind and Beetle feel more at home.)

How did you hack my picture gallery????!!!!???:)
Nice fish....

Great fish. Gotta' give you credit for overcoming the wind yesterday.

Tom obviously did well yesterday.

For two years, he's been the Hunting Correspondent for GB Mag.

Have you seen any hunting articles?

Nope.

I ain't publishing any hunting story about an old guy freezing his balls off for 4 days in a deer stand, while his wife sends him text messages to give up and go to the grocery store before everyone in the family starves.

Tom's hunting trips really are comical.

congrats on the fish tho, dude.

looks like a great day.

Nice brownie Dluver. Did you get him on top.

The East Branch was a wind tunnel yesterday........some fish were taken by our crew, but many, many more foul words were spoken. Lots of bugs, most of the time they were going sideways...............

if you wernt laying on the bank drunk they would not have looked like they were going sideways

Same- I think I may have seen you walking out of the upper east near harvard saturday with my buddies. Bounced around 3-4 spots to catch a handful of fish in the wind- it should not be this hard 3rd week in april. Atleast the bugs were there- I did not see bugs on several stretches during the weekend and as a whole the hendrickson hatch has been very medicore up there this year on most sections.

Hendricksons are GONE except upper reaches. March Browns are showing for the last couple of days already, at least on main and lower branches.

Saw decent numbers of Hendricksons on the Lower West yesterday. Mudbug's 5 year old is an absolute ace at IDing bugs. He sits in the back of the boat and scoops them off the surface with a little net. "DAD I GOT A CADDIS" -- It was ridiculously cool.

Oh yeah, and he called me "moosekid" all day which was pretty awesome as well.

Sunday was a different story....we hit the Beaverkill mid morning and the wind was still a pain in the ass, but caddis filled the air and the trout were on spent flies. It seemed like every fish in the river was taking flies off the surface, and with shortened leaders and well timed casts, we had a great day on the water.

I also was on the Beaverkill over the weekend and the wind was tough but the fishing was great. Lost my hat in the wind but that was an excuse to go buy a new Tilley which I like a lot. Also, it was the first time I tried out my new Thebault silk line. It cast well in the wind, floated like a cork and picked up off the water with ease. All and all a great weekend.
