Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Don't come bowlegged guys........

Hi guys, this is a plea to all of you planning on comming to the "Gathering" to please bring a few flies for door prizes and contest prizes too. I need some help in putting together prizes for all the different folks comming to the "Gathering." Hopefuly everyone attending the Big Farewell Diner on Sat. night at the Rockland House will leave with something to remember the "Gathering." Bring a few, leave with a few. Help me out guys. You'll feel good about it. And just so you know now..........i've decided next year to open up the "Gathering", to include anyone who wants to attend. No more web-site/club affliations nessessary. I'm going to make it a public event. AND, i'm going to have a two day tying event also. Anyone interested in tying at the 2005 "Gathering" should let me know ASAP! I will cut it off at 50 tyers. That way i will be able to have 25 different tyers each day, or, 50 different tyers throughout the day depending on how the guys want to do it. If your planning on comming to the 2005 "Gathering and you would like to donate one (or two) day(s), (either Fri. or Sat.) to tye for the "Gathering", please let me know ASAP! You could do both days one or both shifts, or one day, one or both shifts. A shift being three hours long. Tying being from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. I'm starting my list now. For those who go to the FAOL web-site, you will see the "Gathering" listed under Fish-In's (Roscoe Fish-In), but it is officially called the Roscoe Gathering, and NOT a Fish-In. Just so you know. The main focus of the "Roscoe Gathering" is fishing AND tyng. I'll post the official dates for the 2005 "Roscoe Gathering" asap. mark.......

Mark,

A little too soon for me to consider planning for 2005. In the overall scheme of things I fully expect to be fishing so I guess I'll be there. However signing on for a tying day is still too far off. Sh*t, even with a fly swap that has a 1 month lead time, things happen. You're talking about 15 months!

Anyway, I'll post something about donations on FAOL and see what developes.

Just to get a guestimate, how many people from this site or other sites where you've posted (do not count FAOL) are expected for the 2004 Gathering?

Later,

Allan

Perfectly understandable Allan. There's PAlenty of time........not to worry. Also understand that at some point, you will need to committ! For the old "if you snooze, you loose" WILL kick in. Obviously i will keep YOU posted as to how it's filling up. I fully expect your participation........he he he. Just wouldn't be the same wiffout you Bro. As for the anticipated "Gathering" attendance?????? Your guess is as good as mine. But to put it close, i would imagine we'll have at least as many NEFF'ers as we do FAOL'ers. And i see we have 20 something faol'ers now. We've GOT to be at over 50 comming at present. Don't forget my wife's club will add a few more. And i'm not to sure about the VFB web-site folks yet. I've been "OFF LIST" for the past month because i went to do the Sowbug Roundup down in Arkansas. At some point soon i'll get back On List and try to get a count of who might be comming. Being on that "list" which is a lot of fun, adds quite a few emails to your work load on a daily basis. But anyway you look at it, we've got last year beat by a good number. later, mark

Uh Oh!

Didn't know Misa's group was going to be attending and participating.

Guess we'll have to be on good behavior. In part, that means keeping your waders up and if you have to pull your flies down, make sure you're out of sight!

" Roscoe Gathering"

LMAO. Hey.........they aint no different than anyone else. Just like to eat with sticks is all...........LOL. Thing is, she had already planned a club outting up here for that same weekend, so......might just as well have 'em join in. Like i said, next year, and every year after that, far as i'm concerned, anyone (fly fisher/tyer) is welcome. Only way to get this thing on the map is to open it up to anyone interested and willing to participate. You'd understand if you'd ever been to the EXPO in Idaho Falls or the Sowbug down in Arkansas. Both are terrific events. Course they both have the backing of an FFF affliated club, so they are in part, money raising events. We may not go that far with it in the beginning, time will tell as to just how far we take it. And i say "we" with the hope that you will continue to help? To me, it really doesn't matter if it gets as big as the "other" like events, because all we have is ourselves to make it happen, and they have whole organizations. I just want to see the tying aspect as important as the fishing aspect. So i'm just gonna work on that for next year. later, mark.........
