Gotcha ( from NJTROUT ) and I fished the Big Flatbrook on August 13th.
Water Temp was an absolute ideal 55-56 F.
Gotcha theorized that since we had not had much rain for a few days,
that the low water temp was a result of spring-water seeps.
We fished from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
Saw lots of nice fish cruising early in the day,
but as soon as patches of sunlight hit the water, about 10:30 AM, the trout disappeared.
Got one nice Brookie on a foam-herl beetle size 16. on a 14 foot leader with 5x tippet.
- C&R'd.
I estimated her to be in the 15-to-16 inch range.

When I got home, I measured the distance between my fingers ( curled around
Our Ms. Brook ) to be 4 inches so I think my size estimate is about right.
Anyway, she gave a good fight for about 1 1/2 minutes.
Gotcha took a different approach, fishing a shorter leader with 7x.
He had a few on.
I'll let him tell you about the big rainbow that broke him off...........
