bfb 10-12

got to the bfb at about 8am today. looked like a tailgate party going on at the first lot. shot up the dirt road, much many more fishers. was able to find some "quiet" water. lots of big stockers, very little interest in my flies. had a couple of short strikes and foul-hooked a small brown. got checked by the C.O. he said it was very slow, same w/ a few others i spoke to. was only able to fish until 11 but it did seem like they were starting to come alive as i was leaving(as always).

I'm gonna try to sneak out one day early from work. I'd like to hit it before the weekend when the stocker yahoos are there.

I hear the water is low as well. How was the flow when you fished?

i got out this afternoon and I can tell you there are lots of fish (mostly big browns where I was) and none of them were biting. Water is very clear. tried dries, nymphs, and streamers and nothing..Nice day though

water is low and clear. i did not take a temp, but i'm sure that(temp) was not a factor. i was able to find a little fast water at the mouth of a pool, but the fish were not feeding. they seemed more interested in chasing each other around.
i actually had my best chances in slow water w/ a dry. it was around 11:30 and the sun was starting to warm things up(maybe temp was a factor).
because i work evenings i usually have to fish the mornings, i have some time off this week so i'm going to give it a shot one of these afternoons and stay till dark.
