Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

A few people mentioned that they cannot see the site in full. They've mentioned that they've had to scroll from left to right to see complete messages and the complete site in general.

When I created the site, I took into consideration that everyone was using 1600*1200 resolution. Sorry guys.

So, there are a few ways I can go about solving this little dilemna for those of you not viewing the site at 1024*768 or higher. At 1024*768, you will still have to scroll, but very little.

The first option is for those of you with newer computer systems. What you can do is right click on your desktop, choose properties, then click on the 'settings' tab. If your resolution (desktop area) is anything below 1024*768, you may want to consider changing it. Some of you may also notice a 'REFRESH FREQUENCY'. I dont recommend anyone with a CRT monitor to set that too low, you'll kill your eyesight. If your monitor can handle 75+, do it. Notice that when changing this, your screen resolution may go down. This means your system can only handle one or the other. Save your eyes and choose the highest number allowed by your monitor. Most of you should not have a problem making this number 75+ and your resolution 1024*768 or greater. Once you have chosen your settings, some of you will see a 'TEST' button. If you get a screen with a color grid on it, you're golden and you can choose 'OK' to apply the new settings. If the screen turns black then returns after 10 seconds, you're not golden and I recommend you not continuing with this procedure. Click Cancel.

For those of you who were able to continue but now have very small text and fonts, we can fix you too. Right click once again and choose 'Properties'. Take a look through each of your tabs for a setting called, "Use Large Icons". On my Windows NT 4.0 machine, this is located under the 'PLUS!' Section heading. Simply click the check box and hit 'OK'. On my Windows XP Pro system, this is located under the 'Appearance' tab. Locate 'Font Size' and Try various settings until you find the one you like best.

Once you've completed all of the above, open up your browser. I use IE 5.5 and 6. Other versions of IE as well as other browsers also have these settings, you'll just have to search for them.

In the IE 5.5 or 6.0 menu bar you'll see (File / Edit / View / Favorites....) Choose 'VIEW'. locate 'Text Size' and simply choose a larger size. Close your browser then re-open it. The new settings should take affect. Keep doing this until you find the text size that suits you best.

The above steps, although alot of writing, will only take you 30 seconds or less to perform.

Now I've mentioned a few ways right... The other way is to set up another site within this site which includes most of the same content, but takes up less space. This will take me a while to do, but it's an option. I'll look into doing this if the majority of you are still having problems seeing this entire site displayed.

Thanks

Dennis

I don't visit the main page much, but as to the forum:

With a 14" monitor at 800 X 600, and IE6 text size at "smaller":

The only reason I would have to side scroll is if I wanted to use one of the buttons to the right of "get new". The only other thing to the right of my viewable area is an empty black border, (assuming no one posts a wide image).

To me, that's so minor that it's not worth complaining about.
BUT....If the buttons were slipped under the logo, there would normally be no reason to side scroll. Not even with a small monitor at a relatively coarse resolution.

Checked out the main page with this old machine. There's a side scroll problem that text size or moving the buttons isn't going to cure.
  • There's content in the right frame.

Text size doesn't change the size of images.
Not a complaint, just an observation.
