This weekend I will be fishing the Housatonic river. Just wondering if anyone can suggest good fly patterns for this time of year, both nymphs and dries. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Been fishing near covered bridge quite a bit and from what i've been seeing and catching heres my advice fish from 12:45 and on bring about 2 dozen hendricksons sz-12-14 and be prepared :hubbahubba:

No hendricksons on Sunday.
Every fish took either a small PT, green caddis larva or a rubberlegs stonefly. My client landed a ton of fish including some nice holdover browns and rainbows. You should do well.

I did see a few caddis and a good amount of bwos. I would say the hendricksons are finished. You might see a spinner fall or two but the hatching has passed.

See I am personally experiencing otherwise and hearing different from people I talk to. Including the fly shop boys.

Well all I can say is that I was standing in the river for about 8 hours and didn't see one. Like I said you might see some spinner falls, but the hatch is pretty much done.

The Hendricksons are going full steam on the Farmington. I saw quite a few there on Saturday. There was a nice spinner fall in the evening as well and the fish were on them.
