Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

A Thin Blue Line

BRK TRT

Small stream, wild trout flyfisher
Over the winter along with fly tying I pull out a few maps and check off a stream or two I want to fish. In the late winter and early spring I'll do a little recon to see if these small waters look promising.

Three weeks ago I located this one. Small freestone, runnig well, with water temps of 58 to 60 degrees. Thick and brushy in some areas, then thinning out and flowing through very large hemlock and hardwood tracts.

The fly that was in use was a Bomber, although a beaver pond I came accross, will fish a good size streamer there. The beaver pond is another story.... Wow.

I returned from this bushwhack, tired, sweaty, mosquito bitten, briar cut. and at total peace with this Brook Trout Forest.
