Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
Yea to some degree I think Facebook has pulled people from forums like this, but also I think the economy plays some part in it too. Lets be honest Fly-Fishing is not cheap and if you are struggling financially and don't go out very often you are not going to spend that much time talking about...
A little follow up to this effort, all tires and garbage have been moved and are being shipped off to processing facilities. Eric managed to do some sweat talking at the Somerset County Parks department and got help from them to clear all the drop zones:
The "Double Down" event as a follow-up to the July 17th cleanup was a great success. Such a great success it was re-dubbed the "quadruple down event"... That's right we had a goal of 100 more tires and all groups pulled a total of 406 more tires! In addition to that we pulled a lot of trash...
Here are a few articles written about the on going cleanup effort if you want to read them. The second round of river clean-up "Double Down" is this coming Sunday the 18th if anyone is interested.

Yea sorry I didn't get to it. The kids keep me busy after work. If anyone has the time to come out and lend a hand that would be a big help. Come on it will make you feel good... well after your arms and legs stop aching a few days later you will totally feel good about it ;)
I can probably come and help if you have a date nailed down, with enough time for me to get off from work :) That would be nice as I am a TU member, but have not attended a TU... well anything :crap:
lol, yea right? No, lucky Joe and Steve made arrangements with Somerset County to dispose of...
That whole section is stocked, but there is not a lot of deep pockets down that far, so I doubt they survive threw the summer. When I was a kid I remember my grandfather pulling large trout out from bellow the dam, but it recent years I haven't heard of any large trout being pulled from there.
Just wanted to share with you guys/girl some pictures from this past Raritan River cleanup that I participated in. This project was organized by two of my cousins Joe and Steven and was for the most part a great success. The project was to remove garbage and debris from Blackpoint rd bridge in...

I have been waiting for river bum to stock these things since last year and each time I contact them, they say that they will be available

What Flytire posted on page one is accurate, you can carry one canister of .75 fl oz or less. Personally I think if that is your only defense, then just stay away from any bears, as .75 fl oz will just piss it off. :)
Thank you Rusty, we have various means of protecting ourselves from bears and such :)
We might split our trip into two places depending on how the trip goes. These trips are about fishing, some adventure, fun and most of all a chance to unwind. We could run around and fish 4 or 5 rivers in a...
We are planning out our trip for next year and its looking like Slough Creek in Yellowstone will be our destination. I was wondering if anyone here has ever fished Slough Creek before and had some advice they would like to share. Right now we are planning on hiking to the third meadow and...
lol, I wish I could have brought the fedora, the back of my neck would have thanked me. Unfortunately on these back country trips you have limited space and weight allowances. We are talking about doing a packraft trip next time and im bringing "the hat" if we do. :)
