WilliTMA report 5-15-10

Got out on the Willimantic this morning. Early, around 7:30am. Didn't see any fish rising so I fished the bottom. Caught a bunch of baby rainbows, even caught two at the same time, one on my main fly and one on the dropper!

I did land a big beautiful brown, biggest fish I have landed in this river to date. I got a big hit at the end of my drift, on the swing, but missed the set. Casted for the same spot, again on the swing I got a hit, this time I got a good set. She put up a nice fight and posed for the picture below!

Thats a nice looking brown! I have to get down there one of these days, but the Westfield has been fishing so well it's hard to go elsewhere. Cheers!

nice fish for sure. I'm hoping to get back out there again this week after my miserable trip last week.
