Unbelieveable Pole Speed for Indy

danme

Cast Drys over them Enough They Will Rise
For anyne interested Ryan Brisco turned in a 226.48 to take the pole at the Indy 500 -- That is just unbelieveabley fast -- Someone has to do something to slow these cars down before someone wrecks and several drivers die or even worse become paralized or vegetables -- I know everyone loves SPEED as do I but htis is getting way out of hand

I love racing especially Open Wheel -- Sprints USAC AND WOO on dirt -- I also love Modified Stock Car racing on dirt -- But man who would ever have thought that back in the day when Sprint Cars or Dirt Champ Crs would turn into what Indy cars are today and do 226 MPH -- Just astonishing

Peace
Dan

evidentley U can ass ur stupiud ass replied to my post "JERK OFF".....sew ,..screw U and the boat from Hatati refugees that U came 2 this part of the world,.. NOW go get your shots,..(rabies,.t=yphis-HIV-,..C-def..etc,..),..

That is fast but, the fastest qualifying time was 233.1 in 1996 by Tony Stewart, and as fast as it is, it is a pretty average speed over the last 10 years. I ran faster than that to the toilet one night last week. Yes, I made it in time......

Disagree. These guys knew what they where getting into when they chose racing as a career. Most are rich boys who could have done anything else but chose this. No one gets into racing because they exhausted all other career options. Pretty sure if you ask them they won't want to slow down either, at least if they're real drivers.

And F1 is coming to Edgewater next year. That will be a show.

You either have to be informative, funny, or a fly fisherman or tyer looking to learn and share.... the tough guy routine will get you nowhere.... we all grew up a long time ago.....

I love Indy racing, I live just down the road to Nazareth, used to get tickets for the Indy races there as oftenas i could, also did work for Mario Andretti at his former home near Nazareth high school.I saw a car go way faster than that in Top Gear.Bugatti Veyron Super Sport goes 267 mph, also has 0-60 in 2.4 seconds.
Fastest vehicle i was transported in were several different jet fighter...each one was different experience, also one hell of a ride. only thing faster i guess are missles or rockets.
nothing on land goes faster that i know of compared to a jet fighter.

Try the banking @ Daytona, Talledega, or Pocono @ 190+mph on 2 wheels (the rear actually spins up several mph faster than the front) in the rain and get back to me.

Then we can talk about Texas World speedway w/ small shrubbery growing between the large cracks in th pavement hitting you in the kees and elbows as you're leaned over...
;)

Given the chance at 250mph all of the Indy participants would gladly have a finger amputated to be the first.

...and so it begins.
where can i find instructions on how to block a trolls' posts?

I'm a huge fan of drive fast, turn left. I attended the Indy 500 each year from '88 - '97 and saw multiple other Indy car races in the eastern half of the country over the years from Wisconsin, to NH, to PA and NJ. Speeds always drop during the race, so I don't worry much about pole speeds. Those cars can't remain so on the edge for race day as the wind will be "dirty" with all those other cars out racing so they add downforce which slows speed a bit.

If you've never been to an Indy car race, only F-1 has louder engines. It is amazingly loud when the field comes past you at speed! I'll be watching as I was the qualifying through this weekend.

I was fortunate a few years back to get Pit passes at Pocono during time trials. While I was standing next to the Indy cars I was shocked on how small and tiny they actually are. I was telling the guys I went with you have got to have brass balls to drive that thing.

226 MPH is slow, I believe Roberto Guerrero (and the late Scott Brayton) had qualifying speeds over 230 MPH. Besides the race speeds tend to be up to 5 MPH slower with the cars in "race" trim.

I was in the Snake Pits with my brother the year Pedro crashed from the Pole position during the warm up laps. Crash began right in front of us :):)

Honestly... the more I think of it.... I must have broken the sound barrier.....I couldn't hear myself farting as I rushed to the can...... much faster than some dumb Indy car......

Oddly one of my favorite Indy moments. Something you don't see every day, the fastest car crashing on the parade lap. If I remember correctly it was unseasonably cold that year and he tried to accelerate/swerve to heat up the tires and crashed himself. At least he went inward and didn't take out the field.
