TU Columbia Pontoon Boat

I've been looking around for a reasonably priced pontoon boat and got caught up in the good looks and marketing hype of the TU Columbia Pontoon boat. I know that's no reason to buy the boat (I'm actually a marketing person myself and should know better) so I thought I'd ask if anyone has one or if anyone has any experience with them. I've also been looking at the Orvis (Water Skeeter) boat as well as the Outcast Fishcat series.

Thanks for the opinions...

I have had that model for a year – very satisfied with it – if you are using it in a river of substance – like the WB /EB or Main Delaware you’ll need to put an anchor system with good pulley’s and a ratchet locking system – about $15 or so for good stuff – and real 8-10-12 lb mushroom anchors – at 1800-2000cfs you’ll need two at a time. Also if you have never fished from a pontoon boat it will take some time to get the hang of fishing, handling the craft and the river!

This is a good boat – no problems with what you get for the $499.

Bruce and Un, is this the boat they offer life members at that price, or is that the regular price? Think i better go take a look in the mag. I'm a life member, and if that's the regular price, i can get it cheaper. Looks like a good deal. Nice lookin' craft too. Let me know. Thankx, mark

I agree it is a nice looking pontoon.I would weigh the idea of spending a little more for a model with the casting platform, and leaning post with the stripping basket.I think those are nice features.I too have been contemplating a pontoon, but decided to reserve the funds for a drift boat.Good luck.
