TFO rods...

I am not one to bash and I usually get great service via TFO rods. I sent my 8 wt. in for some warranty repair and they sent the rod to my old address in montana and of course cannot find it. Yet they want me to pay them another $25 to send another to my jersey address. In the past they have been great. Getting rods back way faster than scott or g loomis. I was once a firm believer in this company and yet it is all now shattered. btw...i declined to pay the fee and we are at limbo. Waiting for a response to my polite but not email I sent.

Looking at it from their end, how do they know you are telling the truth? As far as they know they shipped a rod to an address that is on file with them and it was received. By who we dont know. And believe me, as one who ships products around the U.S. that 25 bucks will just cover the cost. They are essentially giving you a free rod based on your word that you were not he one that received the one shipped to Montana

Everyone makes mistakes, and $25 is a great price considering there taking your word for it, and sending you a bran new rod.

valid points by all. They do know that I like in NJ now based on change of residency and they called my old house and confirmed it was someone else. But I need the rod over a fight

I had something similar happen with the North Face. I sent a tent and rain-fly in to get repaired and they sent me back the rain-fly with no tent. Turned out they lost the tent somewhere in the process. It was clearly their mistake.

They made it right by giving me full retail replacement value for my tent and even credited me for accessories that I had bought, like the footprint. I don't recall being charged for shipping.

If you gave them the right address and they mistakenly sent it somewhere else, they should not be charging you for the shipping. Is it worth fighting over $25? Probably not.

Feel free, if you'd like to borrow my back up, an RPL 790-4 . I'm sure it would cast well with 8 weight line on it. I don't think I'm going back to NY state this April or May, so let me know.

I gave in. I am not one to complain too much. I have worked in customer service and I know how much crap they get every day. What im upset about most is that I havnt been able to striper fish all week.

I have broke about 5 rods in my life and every single one of them has been related to negligence of car doors.
