Syracuse Area

Hey, I'll be in Syracuse a day or two in May and want to do some fly fishing for trout. Nine Mile seems like a good pick. Butternut Creek seems sort of slow flowing and hard to wade- I'd just end up at road crossings. Limestone- not sure about access. Carpenter's Brook- DEC access area- might work- enough room to cast or "dapping" type water? Fabius Brook- looks like it might be hard to find a place to park. I was also looking at Fish Creek but it seems like water that you can only wade out a few few and then the current is too strong or the water too deep. I like 20-30" wide streams I can wade across in most areas.
Any suggestions plus flies for May, etc. appreciated. Right now I'm using the DEC website with public access maps.

with the amount of snow in pulaski- u can give steelhead a shot in the salmon river in may and likely get into some. The river is not crowded that time of year and the fishing can be very good.

Check out Chittenago creek, I used to fish up there a lot when I was dating my ex who lives up there. It's got a good amount of wild fish and it's a very productive stream. Some bushwacking is required.

Prospecting dries and small black stones work amazingly up there.
