Spring Creek 5/23/12

Made it to PA today only to find Penns blown out again so we headed up for an evening trip to fisherman's paradise on spring creek which was a first for us. What a beauty of a creek. Got to watch the eagles nest for a bit while talking with some locals, then we hiked down the road past the pistol range and fished back to the truck. I landed 5 fish and one beauty of a brown all euro nymphing - 1 on BHHaresear and the rest on small PTs. My dad and brother fished dries and had a fish misses but no hook ups. A few sulphers coming off when we arrived and the hatch didn't really kick in till almost 8 and then is was a sight to see. Probably back to spring creek in the AM and not sure what to do in the evening. Maybe Big fishing Creek.

Maybe Big fishing Creek.

Great report.

If I may, you might reconsider Fishing Creek for the early morning.

Penns takes a few days to clear, and you never know if it does right now, at dusk Green Drakes, Caddis, and Sulphers will all be coming off.

If it is still chocolate, Spring Creek in the evening is absolutly beautiful!

PS

Hate to say this... egg patterns deep...

Best of luck to you and yours!

And by egg patterns, Dennis means glo roe pegged 2'' above a size 10 straight eye egg hook, fished deep.

Dude nice avatar, did u take that pic?
Troutguy if you are talking about my avatar, yes I did take that. Took that a few years ago in the Delaware water Gap in NJ. Got plenty of video of bears from down there as well.

We did fish spring creek again yesterday and had a spectacular sulphur spinner fall and I actually caught some fish on spinners which I almost never do. I'm a nymph guy so it was a switch for me. Beauty of a creek and it is fishing well right now. Not sure where we are headed this morning.
