Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Spey guys throw me some info!

Eventually the wrong fly will become the right one
So, I've got a 13' 9 wt. Loop Adventure spey coming my way.

Need to outfit it with a reel and line.

Ive got a cheap price on a Lamson Radius, in the 10/11 wt...I like the radius I use it on one of my trout rods, but would it work as a spey reel?

And as far as line...I have a poly-leader set so I was thinking stay basic...but wtf do I know?

please, educate me:nose-picking: !

Here's the reel you want to get for it.

The big question is what line to buy. So where are you fishing? If you're fishing lakes and want to retrieve as much line as possible, I'd go with a
skagit. If you're fishing rivers I'd probably go with a windcutter. (It has a longer belly than the skagit, but you should still be able to handle it on a 13' foot rod.

You might also want to consider something in between, like a Rio AFS (Scandi line), though you'll have to cast smaller flies than you would with a skagit.

I'd stay away from long-belly lines, especially with a 13' rod.

For surf I'd go with a skagit.

It's important to know that the casting technqiues change for casting different spey lines.

Thanks for the response!

Well, Ive read elsewhere that Rio AFS casts well with the rod....and Ill be casting in rivers. How would this change my casting style?

Im fairly green as far as spey fishing goes, couldnt tell I bet haha.

don't listen to these morons. you dont want this rod. i'll trade you a single-hand 8 wt for it just because i feel bad for you.
