Salmon rod?

Hello all,

im looking at picking up a new rod to fish for salmon on Lake Ontario tributaries.

9 or 10wt in 9 or 10'.

I have a lamson velocity 3.5x reel I plan on using on the new reel.

Id like to keep it cheap, good warranty is a must. It doesn't have to cast well because ill be using running line, chucking and ducking.

I was tempted to just pick up an orvis Clearwater......I'd like a 10 footer, but the longest they go is 9'.

So. 9 or 10 wt? 9 or 10'??

the Clearwater is only $225 and comes with orvis' great warranty.


Any recommendations??

you should look at St Croix also. Have the imperial and it works fine for what we do up there with them. Its a 9ft 9wt. I also us a Loomis G2 but they don't make them anymore but it also I 9ft 9wt and handles fish well.

Like WBDluver said, get a Croix. Cheaper and Made in America.
