Some "hardcore fishermen" being hardcore idiots. Making beetle look bad.

Catskill Mountain Man

Explore, and implore to explore
(haha im just joshin' beetle you're alright in my book now a days)

Hey whats up fellas

Was googleing around getting excited to hopefully catch some albies on a blues boat this weekend or the next and I came across this video.1,100 Pound Giant Bluefin Tuna RELEASED with Bruce Brothers Charters - YouTube

Shows a fight with a 1,100 lb Bluefin (its 3 minuets and you can fast forward to 2:04 to see the scenes in question).

Has anyone ever seen more of a going to die fish??

"CATCH AND RELEASE BRO!!"

process every situation differently according to the circumstances and don't always go by "the book".

Fools should have kept the monster to feed their families, or if vegan the families of friends..

Some sharks had a great meal twenty mins after they "released" the beast.

I love the weight estimate 1,100 lb tuna is a rare fish.

Released my ass! I didn't see that fish being released. If anything, it was released right into the Japanese fish market. Do you know how much a fish that size is worth? Every captain I know is on the phone the minute they land a fish like that, the buyers are waiting at the dock when the boat pulls in.

From my understanding, when a fish like that is caught you have to get it into the boat ASAP. The longer you fight the fish the less it's worth in the open market because the acid builds up in the muscles and starts to deteriorate anything worth eating.

THat is correct. Only an idiot would release that fish. Bluefin is sold in the open market for around 15-25/lb. Unless you already have a few mill. and have a fetish for releasing tuna you will keep that fish.
