For this month’s meeting we have a change-of -pace. We are deviating from our normal trout-related fishing presentations, and will be delving into a new and mysterious world most of us aren’t familiar with.

This month, Rahway River Trout Unlimited (RRTU) is once again very fortunate to have a nationally-known fishing expert, JB (Joe) Kasper, as the scheduled speaker for our March 16th meeting.

Joe is a long-time, highly-accomplished, Fishing Guide, Free Lance Writer/ Photographer, Educator/Advocate for fisherman’s rights and proponent for improvement of all East Coast environmental issues and activities. JB, as he is sometimes, called is the Outdoor Writer for the Trenton Times newspaper, with his weekly column usually appearing on Fridays. He is also the Field Editor/Columnist for “The Fisherman” weekly magazine, and frequently writes articles about fishing and the outdoor topics for nationally-published magazines, as well.

Joe has lived and fished in the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area all his life and fished all over both states and Canada for many varieties of fish. He has over 40 years of guiding experience on the Delaware, and specializes in fishing for Smallmouth Bass, Shad, Trout, Walleyes, and Stripers. He is also an accomplished small-stream trout fisherman; a serious saltwater fisherman, and an avid ice fisherman during the winter months.

At the March RRTU meeting, we will be treated to Joe’s presentation, “Delaware River Shad”. If you are like most of us, you have always heard about the great shad fishing opportunities in the Delaware River, but you never did it nor did you know where to go or how to start. Joe is well known as “The Premier” shad-fishing guide on the river. So here is your chance to listen and learn! When I spoke to Joe a few days ago, he said that the shad fishing last year was probably the best in the last 7 or 8 years. So the time is right. Shad fishing season will be starting in about a month.e has great hopes for it being even better this year.

You won’t want to miss this one!

This presentation is free-of-charge to all interested fisherman regardless of whether or not you are a RRTU member. So bring a friend, and come on out and enjoy yourself; learn a few new things; meet some new fishing buddies, and perhaps even consider joining our Trout Unlimited Chapter, #155.

The RRTU meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, Cranford, NJ (Tel. 908-709-7283).

Denny, you are speaking for the AK Skim Chapter of TU, right?

Better to leave that to AK.

Otherwise, nobody's gonna show up, Denny.

Remember, it is AK's chapter after all.

Denny, you are speaking of the Rahway River Chapter of TU

GB:

Lot of good people have put countless hours into getting this TU chapter from a simple idea up and running to what it is today.

MR. MCR has put in countless hours and much of his own money to make it happen, The Sib and Super have continued that tradition.

We all know you are just being funny, but it would be best to leave this one alone.

Your buddy.

AK

BUT I MUST POINT OUT THAT THIS POST HAS LESS THAN 100 VIEWS.

NOBODY CARES ABOUT RRTU.

BUT A WHOLE BUNCH OF US WANT TO BE PART OF THE AK SKIM CHAPTER OF TU.
