Prolong Zap-A-Gap shelf life?

Andy

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
Like just about everyone else, I've become accustomed to using Zap-A-Gap for my tackle repair and fly tying. I like the stuff, but I find it has two drawbacks. Firstly, it's a bit expensive compared to other super glues. I can live with that, however I rarely get to use it a second time after the initial opening. On several occassions, the stuff hardened in the bottle before I even had a chance to open it!

I've heard that you can prolong the hardening time of epoxy by putting it in a freezer. Does anyone know a way to prolong the shelf life of Zap-A-Gap?

Andy,

It works for Zap-A-Gap too. Make sure the container is tightly sealed and you need to warm it to room temperature before using it. Don't add heat or microwave, just let it sit out. The freezer will also extend the shelf life of unopened containers.
