Finally had a pretty good evening on the river for pikes last evening. In less than two hours driveway to driveway, I landed six pikes and raised another four. They ranged in size from about twenty-four inches up to the largest in the photo of about thirty-six.
Fish were on the skinny side and a little lethargic, possibly due to the high water temps this summer, as the water is still quite warm now.
The last few outings I have had a small number of half-hearted takes on the large (10"-12") flies. The fish seemed to be just grabbing the fly, not eating it. Last night I scaled down the bait to a 6"-7" articulated Deceiver in white and chartreuse. They ate that pretty good.
