Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Pequannock River

Pete. Did you tye the fly in your new avatar?

That's amazing!

LOL! I tied the prince nymph in its mouth, thats about all. The punk rocker was tied by Pat Cohen. Pat's on another planet when it comes to spinning deer hair. He's at all the shows so if you make it to the fly tying or fly fishing shows in Somerset, Pats always there.

The Prince nymph is what I was referring to. :)

Not completely correct. Ancient history. I'd be happy to bring you up to speed if you'd like. TU started that initiative. I'll leave it at that. Like I said, ancient history. BTW, can you list the accomplishments the past 15 or more years of that organization you didn't name? I support them, for what it's worth...

As for "not doing $hit for it", also incorrect. Our local chapter is working with the town and DEP who allowed a bad contractor to channelize a portion of the current TCA to remove trees but who screwed up some habitat. The other group you mentioned didn't want to rock the boat because they like that town that owns that water. Right is right and the town's contractor didn't do the right thing. TU reached out to the other group and decided that if they didn't want to get involved, we would. No harm, no foul. We'll fix it.

I apologize for a very late reply but I just happened to see this and it certainly needs a response. For openers, the Pequannock River Coalition did "rock the boat", calling in the DEP soon after we learned of this. I can send you a copy of the letters and emails. Sadly, the DEP has been conducting ZERO enforcement for the so-called flood mitigation work being done on the Pequannock, Wanaque, Ramapo and Pompton. We were finally able to get the Soil Conservation folks to take an interest and file a stop-work order. We also had the contractor at least rearrange some of the river in a more beneficial way. It's a mess but unless the state will take action its impossible to get a violation on it. In all this, I am unaware of ANY action by TU concerning this work. Maybe I'm just not in the loop.

Second, TU didn't start "that initiative". I started that initiative when I was with TU. Big difference.

Lastly, here are some of our accomplishments in the last 15 years. PRC has been at the front of every battle, and mostly triumphant. Not bad! For more info, visit www.pequannockriver.org.

This is a river that I have never fished but it always looked like great water. What is the latest on the WTS sections and how did the Seasonal TCA work out?

WTS didn't fish as well as it normally does because the reservoir authority (I think) was doing alot of work on there. I'm assuming it was the reservoir authority because they had a motor boat and a dock on the river. There there is the issue of the cloudy water every fall for the last couple of years, I'm assuming this is also part of whatever it is that they are doing?
