Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
I was reading a thread from about 10 years ago posted on NEFF about stream improvements "scheduled" for Parker Brook a trib to the Big Flatbrook. Does anybody know what came about with this? Curious. NJPatbee mentioned at the time something was in "the works"

Parker Brooke quite a few years ago used to have some brook trout. Something happened and they were no more brook trout for a number of years. North Jersey TU monitor the temperature in with 75° or higher in the early summer. We did a group walk and found that much of the stream was exposed to sunlight and even running underground in spots. It’s a shame but it was removed from the reproductive trout stream classification.
I have an update. The Native Fish Coalition state board members walked Parker Brook last fall ('23). As falcon said, it flows under the ground in places and become de-watered in the main channel at times. I would say that the forest canopy seemed more than adequate to shade the river and that none of what we saw in our tour was man made, hence we would not recommend anyone do anything on this stream. Other tributaries to the Flatbrook in that area have native brook trout and in decent numbers, and our focus will be on those areas instead of Parker Brook.
