Nj Flyfishing show (Edison Edition)

MACFLY

Too many streams too little time
Since most of you boobs are too lazy to post I will go ahead and update you all on the new location for the show this year. My first impressions are it’s an improvement from somerset. More spacious (2 casting ponds), cleaner facility, and wider aisles so people aren’t banging into each other. Today was quite crowded but more than enoug( room. They also have a space for all the boats and inflatables out of the way. Definitely more boats this year. Better discounts this year than past years. I am sure this is because of the trump economy. That last jackass was a disaster for the flyfishing industry. Lots of people drinking in th4 concession area further signaling a better economy. All in all the new location is an upgrade and should do well. I’ll be there all weekend if you need any advice or flycasting lessons or to sign a book. One small coffee is all it will cost you. Tight lines you boobs.

PS I have an outfit for sale here in case you havenr noticed. Somebody stick a crow bar in your wallet and buy the dam thing already.

Ya' figure it would have sold already, I mean with the booming economy and all....

Thanks for the report on the New location.I planned on making it this
Year but a little too much going on to get down there.I second the
Obama era disaster for the economy, and national security. !

Mac,do you have a booth at the show,or do you walk around with sun glasses on and a long
Overcoat with rod tubes hanging on the inside going up to guys who look like they have a little coin, and whip open your over coat and "Pssst Buddy,Scott,Sage Orvis... deal of a lifetime...." lol!

How was it?

I thought the aisle widths were great compared to Somerset, but I didn't like the layout this year with aisles in two different directions. One big complaint I heard was that the guest speakers were in "rooms" that were nothing more than black curtains hanging down, and those curtains did nothing to block the sounds coming from the "rooms" on either side. But all in all, a better location that can be tweaked next year.

Wouldn't everyone who spoke be a "guest speaker". I mean it's only here once a year..are there permanent speakers as well? :):):)

I went on Friday and I thought it was great. The place was packed and the only thing that I thought might need to be addressed for next time was the parking lot had become "every man for himself". Cars and trailers parked haphazardly and as a result, a lot of space was wasted and other areas became border line boxed in. Other than that there was plenty of room inside to roam around (even with all the nobbers that insist on wearing overstuffed backpacks and stand in the aisles). Prices at the venders seemed pretty much average but Allen Fly Fishing had a great deal on hooks and I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of overpriced empanadas for the ride home.

I agree the aisles were a big improvement and the layout could have better. I liked the show but did not buy much mostly talked to the tackle vendors. I did give donations and buy raffle tickets to FUDR, Theodore Gordon, Casting for Recovery and Healing Waters.

The only real downside was driving there. Somerset is easier to drive to.
