Well, I didn't get to fish the Letort or the Smokies because I had to run back home to do some "house work". Return line for the pool broke and needed to be dug up. Anyways, none of you care about that.
I hit Nine Mile this morning for a bit since it is only ten miles as the crow flies. I started out in a section I usually do alright in, but the water was low and gin clear. BUT, it was still nice and cold. Probably right in the ball park of 55 degrees (I lost my thermometer so it's just an uneducated guesstimation proximation). There wasn't much dry fly action going on, but I managed a couple dinks on an ant. Switched up to a brown bead head wolly bugger and caught one and missed a few, and then decided my fly looked better in the tree on the other side of the creek.
After walking a whole lot down stream and seeing a bunch of nothing but water and log jams (did see some carp and suckers) and a few scattered trout, I headed up to the pull off near the "cave". It's really not much of a cave, instead a nice rock under cut.
Started out there with a bead head nypmh and stuck with it since I did so well. Hooked and landed a bunch and all in all it was a good morning to be out on the water with no one around.
