Need a printable hackle gauge

jack1266

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
Hi folks. I'm trying to save a trip to the shop later today since it'll probably be snowing. Does anybody have a scan of a hackle gauge (to scale) they can post so I can print one out for use. I figure I could glue it to a block of wood with some spray adhesive and bend the hackle around a push pin. I swear I'm not being cheap!

I tried... but I can't get a good scan (in-focus) w/o completely ripping the post from it's roots.
This one's glued in there pretty good. I'd have to destroy it to accomplish the mission.
I also tried peeling off the print. No Go.

So sorry...

I knew you guys would come through. Gonna try and print one up. Thanks!!

FYI: For anyone else interested, I clicked on SStasiak's link in his post below and from there went back to the original link (below). Then I copied / pasted the gauges into a Word document and printed them. I checked the measurements against those stated in the first link and they seem right on.

Thanks again.

Anything over 36" is considered snow..........less than that is a flurry!!....I think in the past Metz hackle had a printable hackle gauge.not sure if they still do F/T

when I was first learning to tie flies, we were taught to use the hook as a hackle gauge- one and a half times the hook gap, but they can't charge for that one, so someone came up with the idea that you needed a special piece of apparatus for correct sizing. Then they wanted us to buy fishing rods made of fiberglass, if you can beleive that! I guess times change...

If you have Whiting hackle on back of the cardboard they sometimes have a hackle guage printed on it.
