Midgets on Midges

Got out to a nearby stream today to squeeze out a couple of hours fishing before Christmas eve festivities. The wind was calm, and although the air was chilly, the water measured 40 degrees. I suspect there are some spring seeps influencing this piece of water. Several trout were sipping midges, so I tipped out to 7x and played the game. I didn't get anything bigger than 4 inches, but it was good fun catching them on dries while they were rising on Dec. 24th.









Was I being stalked by a bear, or a big dog who needed a pedicure?
