Looking for a labrador pup

Hey guys haven't been here in a while but I'm hoping you all can help me find a reputable lab breeder In the Tri state area. I would ideally like chocolate but am open to black and yellow. If anyone has any leads on pups or has any info I would really appreciate it. Thanks

When I got my Doberman pup I went straight to the AKC club. Ended up talking to the NJ Doberman club president. She told me she would advise of any breeder name I brought her. In the end she was the one I went with. He's an awesome dog and with three kids in the house, I wanted to know all the facts about where he came from.

Labs you should especially be weary of back yard breeders. Between Amish puppy mills and fake registries there are many poor dogs out there. I have a distant in-law who got a lab puppy that I swear is half mastiff.

I know of a breeding of some very good labs in 2014 in the High Bridge, NJ area. When are you looking for a pup? I'd have to check to see when my friends are breeding their female again. Very good lines for show, hunting and dock jumping as well as obedience.

Thanks for the replies guys I appreciate the insight. I'm not in a huge hurry as I'm weary of just the things mentioned. If you could find out if and when your friend was planning on breeding again that would be great. Thanks

I have an 18 month old lab dalmatian mix who is a "bad dog" but really pretty awesome. Save a Mutt and your money. Most lab mixes retrieve. Mutts are more healthy and if you save them they are greatful.

If you still have not found a pup come summer I'd check local pounds in August and September. Alot of great pure bread dogs were purchased for the Holidays. 6 to 9 months from now kids will be ready to go back to school and will have lost interest in taking care of their new pets. Parents won't want to deal with this either so off to the pound these dogs will go. I volunteered at a local pound. During the summer it was loaded with great pure breads and mutts less than a year old. At the time I was talking to local breeders for a Brittany. Ended up finding a 6 mo old pure bred Britt at the pound that was twice the dog I'd seen at any of the breeders. My Britt is still going strong a decade later.

Well after much research here is the new addition. Her name is Stella and we picked her up yesterday. Thanks for the replies and help guys

Here's a pic of the family

Good luck with Stella. Just moved a bunch of pics from old desktop to my MacBook Pro. It was a lot of fun to look through pics of our yellow lab we picked up when we got back from our honeymoon. Hope you make a lot of fond memories.
