Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
Hit the KLG yesterday for a few hours. Got 4 brookies one up to 15". Funny enough he put up a poor fight compared to the smaller fish. Lost one average rainbow and lost one large snag that started moving. Still using last years tippet which broke. There's a lesson for you. Need to replace your tippet every year. Cost me a very large fish. Oh well, nice to be out. Got pretty crowded later in the day, although nothing like the crowds that will be there this weekend.

Like I said in another thread, last Saturday there where 35 people on the river when I left (literality, I counted). It looked like even more when I showed up. I can't imagine, how many are going to be there opening day.

Honestly, TCA's aren't really a big attraction on opening day. The circus crowd is mostly out for their yearly ritual, which for most includes keeping 6 trout. Since that is illegal in the TCA's and you can fish them right now, opening day won't be much worse on the TCA's than you saw this past weekend.

Just my .02

Well I hope your right for the trout’s sake. I honestly don’t plan to find out for myself  I normally fish as catch and release only. I dont really eat trout, so it would be a waste if I kept them. I just like to hook them, when I can :)

Last year, I was surprised by how few fishermen there were in the Gorge Opening Day. It wasn't deserted but it was fine. Just my observation from what people told me stopping by.

i love watching some of the idiots on opening day, 40 people across a 40 foot section, salmon eggs and worms in tow....and a stringer full of under developed trout

nj needs harsher fishing regulations.

I really dont mind them getting it out of thier systems this time of year so they can mostly disappear from mid May to November. Just imagine what it would be like if they kept it up all year. Let them have their fun untill the stocking trucks quit.
