We invite you to support the upgrade of the Upper and Middle Delaware River to Exceptional Value by writing a letter and being part of the original submission to the PA Department of Environmental Protection. This designation is reserved for the state’s cleanest and healthiest streams.

Be a co-petitioner for the Upper and Middle Delaware River Watershed – your support will strengthen the power of the petition and increase the likelihood that the PA DEP will grant it. We need to let them know that we care about this special watershed, and that we want it preserved with the strongest protections under the Clean Water Act.

This would help assure that water quality in all streams in the watershed are not degraded. Rivers & streams like the Lehigh, Brodheads, McMichaels, Tobyhanna, Lackawaxen, Bush Kill, Saucon Creek and all the others that are part of the Upper & Middle Delaware river basin.

Is this some how related to the marcus shale drilling in the state of PA?

Joe you mentioned the Tobyhanna, I was out there just last week and the creek was up and running just fine.
There was some rain few days before, but it looked in great shape to me.

The "Toby" is my second most favourite freestone in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Mike Valla knows the first but has sworn an oath to the secrecy about that creek.

I'm pretty sure it's the canal. I saw him with a cane pole and velveeta cheese fly last week.

Well.. by the time they got to me I looked it over and then asked the server if they had any Valveeta cheese?

Course the table erupted into laughter, didn't bother me in the least because I know what makes a great grilled cheese sandwich, and catches trout.

They've seen all the devastation done to the trout fishing in Wyoming due to the near decade of fracking there and they don't want THAT to happen to the D!
