Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

So what do you do when on Easter Sunday morning your sister calls and says that Easter Dinner is off because she has come down with the flu? That was a rhetorical question because the obvious answer is go fishing.
I set out for a WTS under overcast skies and a chilly east wind. Upon arriving streamside I noticed how much warmer it again was to the west of home. The streams are getting low again and the seeps are beginning to disappear.

Today would be prospecting with dry flies and I chose a Chartreuse Humpy to start. I missed a fish on my second cast fishing the pool adjacent to the parking area and worked my way up to the swimming hole pool. I missed another fish at the tail of the pool and began to work my casts up along the edge of the spill-out into the pool. I missed a nice fish at the top of the pool and a couple of casts later connected with this above average size brown.

I worked my way upstream with enough interested fish to keep my attention focused on the drifting fly. As would be expected, most fish were of a size to be expected in this small stream.

The Chartreuse Humpy saw most of the action, but I also managed a few takes on an Elk Hair Caddis.

What I did discover was that you only got one shot at most of the fish as they did not rise again after a missed take.
