Fished the Penny Packer Tuesday

Finally got out Tuesday for the first time since opening season. The creek was clear and the fish spooked easily. Tried fishing the spinners with my GF landed only one fish. Decided on the fly rods, landed around 18 fish in 2 hours. She had 6 in one run using green weenie, most of the fish hit on the down swing so they hooked themselves just about. This was only her third time with a fly rod. Like I said San Juan, Green Weenie, worked well, saw some fish rising on midges.

Just drove by the Wiss and Penny to check out the water, seemed fishable. The water is stained Might be better fishing conditions then the last time I went. The fish moved at any movement spooked bad. Will be heading out after my daughters hockey game around 4pm will hit the water. Will post with conditions and temps.
