Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

After a great day on the Big D, I like a snifter of George Dickel Tennessee whisky. Had it for the first time last summer and am hooked. It's quite tasty, inexpensive and the company sponsors some great fly fishing events. I support this!

What do y'all like to drink after a day on the river?

Jack Daniels, but I'll have to look into your recommendation.

Hot weather option ... Beer (any brand).

Cold, clean water. If a trout won't swim in it, I ain't drinkin' it! ;) Nah, I can always go for a pint of Guinness...

Beer in a can.
and Wisniowka, Wisniak, Cognac, Irish Whiskey...
and beer in a cold crushable can.

hmm, on stream: beer, beer, beer.
back at the campsite: maker's mark whisky

can't go wrong! don't forget the stogies......

Serotonin, Since You like wisniowka or wisniak, try black berry brandy, aka Jezynowka, You won't regret it :) This one is a winner for me, specially when You are standing in cold water praying for steelheads or doing any other winter fishing for that matter. Works well on the ski lifts too.
P.S Please be reasonable drinking it while fishing or skiing :)

Absolutely! (no pun intended).

My grandmother used to give us kids the mild Black Berry Brandy when we were sick/tooth-ache/ etc... to mellow us out. If that didn't work, she'd give us her home-made Jesynowka spiked w/ Spiritus.
;)

A nice rock glass full of "Knob Creek"......gave up drinking thou...now it is a nice Birch Beer.

Serotonin,

"Wisniowka, Wisniak, Cognac, Irish Whiskey...

Wow, all that in a cold crushable can? What do you call that concoction? :) Your demeanor is starting to make sense to me now...

For me, there is nothing quite like a Snapple peach iced tea... in a dirty glass... bottle.

John

Future,

That's what I drink on the river, Snapple peach, iced cold enough to give you a headache. Sometimes Diet Raspberry but I've been getting the quart plastic bottles lately and haven't seen the diet raspberry that way.

Bruce

Well Bruce,
Let's hope that the rivers will be cold enough this year that we can keep the Snapple (resting in the shallows at the waters edge or over the side of the boat) while we fish, "headache cold". :)

John

After a warm day, you just can't beat a nice cold Lager, or Pilsner. (or two, or three...)
:D

after walking the banks of the D in Lackawaxen, my old man used to
drink essentially one thing: Iron City Beer.

For me? Stopped drinking in 1976, beyond a sip of wine / champaign here and there
at weddings, that's it.

Fishing? A whole day will go, Coffee, Water, Iced Tea :)

none too exciting, but for me boring is "a good thing"

On stream, water, can't get enough of it. If it's cold, I'll carry a flask with some Jameson in it. Afterwards (and maybe for lunch) there's always a cooler in the car with a few cold ones in it. What kind depends on how I feel that day. As far as the polish brandy goes, it's the go to drink right after getting in the camp during hunting season. Nothing warms me up after a day in the stand like that.

after a day along the stream nothing sits better than old grandad and 2-3 buds. but 2-3 buds turns to a hatch of buds when your with friends??????
