After dinner last evening I loaded the kayak into the back of truck for the three minute drive down to the Mighty P. Very nice evening for a float with no wind to push the boat off line while drifting the bank and water temperatures that are cooling off nicely in the river.
I fished for a little over an hour, raising three fish and landing all of them. A 20" jack that launched itself from ten feet away to take the fly and made a number of acrobatic leaps, and two solid fish in the mid thirties that gave the usual thrash and pull. I used two flies, a 6" articulated white and chartreuse deceiver and an 9" pink tube fly.
