"You can observe a lot just by watching." Y. Berra
Good morning.

Now thatWolf has defeated Corbett as governor of Pennsylvania:

I doubt that you will see any hydraulic fracturing within the Delaware River basin which includes both New York (Delaware, Sullivan and Orange) and Pennsylvania (Wayne, Pike) with Wolf as Pennsylvania governor.

The DRBC is comprised of four states and the Army Corps of Engineers.

Delaware is already opposed.
New York has had a five year mortorium.
Pennsylvania is now questionable with Corbett defeated.
There is no comment from New Jersey.

New York will begin fracking in the Susquehanna River watershed next year in a cautious manner which will probably include Chemung, Steuben, Tioga and possibly Broome counties on a case by vase basis since it is already allowed by the SRBC in Pennsylvania eg. Bradford, Tioga and Susquehanna counties.

Delaware and Sullivan will not be affected since they drain into the Delaware River.

It also doesn't help the Delaware Basin counties in New York and Pennsylvania that:

a) New York City which owns two large reservoirs and surrounding land prohibits fracking.
b) Home Rule for New York state townships passed in the high court creating a "patchwork" for prospective energy companies to do business here.

Wayne County, Pennsylvania property owners that have been pro-frack have been, and, my guess, when they woke up this morning, are now more pissed than ever about their future prospects.

The DRBC, in my opinion will not have the votes to approve it in this watershed at least for the next four years.
