MidnightPoacher
Just finished a River Runs Through it!
Midnight Poacher here..
Well, here we are the time when I wish that the month would blow through until April Trout season opens.
This year, I have take another approach -- I have decided to stay off season in the Dominican Republic instead of staying in Manhattan - and watch the Dominican cuties sunbathe while I suck down a few margaritas, smoke a few Cubans and bonefish (heh heh) ....
FYI, the Albino Worm has been working wonders with the native fishies.....!!
It looks, at least from my perspective, that cabin fever has caused you Mainlanders to go a little stir crazy. The answer, come to the Islands and enjoy the birds. There are many birds of size, shape and colors.
Knowing that I needed to work on my stroke back in the U.S. -- I decided to load up the Midnight Poacher LearJet and hit some of those great spring creeks in Pennsylvania.
As may be of no suprise for you MidNight Poacher fans -- of course, the Vogue girlies were wrapped up in the latest mink coats fresh from our swing through Russia and Paris during their photo shoots. Need to make sure that the babes are warm after I arrive back from fishing 7x tippet and midge pupae in the drift for those hungry German Brownies at The Yellow Breeches. Those March winds in Allenberry can be biting, but the fishing was hot!!
The fishing was hot!! M.P. was cranking fish on 7x and particular patterns in trade from guides previously hired in New Mexico while fishing the San Juan in Navajo Dam, NM.
Sight fishing 17 to 20 inch fish that were chomping down on drifting midge larvae and pupae in any color, was the trick. The hot fly was glass bead midge pupae in size 24 -- the trout were sucking them down like my Vogue Twin Blonde Girlfriends sucking down Caviar and Dom Perignon on the flight back to the states.
I wish you fellow anglers a great seaon - and remember - balance -- that is why I intend to book up the entire Trout House at the Delaware River Club to make sure that my Dominican Vogue Models have enough rooms to work on their makeup and attitude for the wonderful Fabio meals in the later evening.
Tight lines to all.
Sincerely,
The One and Only -- MidNight Poacher --
