Took me a few minutes then thought... Duh! There is a spreadsheet which you can download and add your name to the list then send it on to your friends.

If you know the answer, please don't post it here. PM me and I'll email you the spreadsheet if you care to put your name on the list. If you don't care to put your name on the list but want to verify your answer, I can do that too.

Here is the copy of the email I received.

They say only people with an IQ with 140 and over are able to figure this out.

If.....

2 + 3 = 10

7 + 2 = 63

6 + 5 = 66

8 + 4 = 96

Then:

9 + 7 =????

The number you find out is the password to open the spreadsheet.

Sign your name, save it and then if you want, you can forward to any
more smart people you know.

figured this out on the first glance and I am by no means a genius. 140 is a really high IQ. I took an iq test last month and got a 121. Showed this to my dumbass friend sitting next to me and even he figured it out.

If my answer is correct:
It's more of a brain teaser or puzzle than an IQ test.
Unless.... I'm getting smarter as senility sets in......

Ok... Let's do this the easy way. I don't think I've ever received so many PM's! Makes me finally feel like somebody :fart:.

I've attached the spreadsheet to this post. Download the spreadsheet. It's password protected. The password to get into the spreadsheet is the answer to the problem. Add your name to the list and pass it around. Let's see how many people make the list!

Ok...Here is a real puzzle, What does this mean???
/tmp/neffchallenge1-2.xlsx could not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences.

Thanks DC...... I had to save it to the desktop. Then open it with Open Office,,,,,Since I don't use any Microsoft products... I can't add my name to the list... If you want add my name to the second spot I see listed under yours...Thanks for the challenge....

You're not fallin' for THAT are ya DC?
(Well, if you are,)
While you're putting his name on the list, could ya put mine in there, too?
I know that I have a hard time adding and subtracting those number things in my checkbook(my wife does it), but I figured out that easy quote/unquote challenge problem thing of yours...
That's Future Fanatic (both with a capital F)

:)

That, minus the wife part sure did remind me of someone else.

FF.. He's not fallin' for what??? I sent him the right answer and B/c I hate Microsoft products... I only use Open-source software on my computer... Thats why I can't add my name to the list.. I was able to open the file in OpenOffice it reads in case you don't believe what I'm saying....
<style> <!-- BODY,DIV,TABLE,THEAD,TBODY,TFOOT,TR,TH,TD,P { font-family:"Arial"; font-size:x-small } --> </style> <table rules="none" border="0" cellspacing="0" cols="3" frame="void"> <colgroup><col width="340"><col width="224"><col width="68"></colgroup> <tbody> <tr> <td sdnum="1033;0;@" valign="middle" width="340" align="left" bgcolor="#c0c0c0" height="19">Dennis Cabarle</td> <td sdnum="1033;0;@" valign="middle" width="224" align="left" bgcolor="#c0c0c0">NEFF!!! Notice the :)...
The post was meant to be self deprecating with my admission that I can't add and subtract numbers in a check book and needed DC to add my name to the list because I could not solve the challenge... I have no doubts that you were able to solve it...
(but I have some doubts as to your abilities to spot meek attempts at humor) :)
