Beulah 4/5 wt switch rod - custom built

LyNcH

Dries, wets, nymphs and streamers...it's all good!
I have to sell my custom 4/5wt 10’6” Beulah switch rod. I have talked about how nice this rod casts on the forum a few times and have been very pleased with the performance. I built this rod in Spring of 2009 and used it approximately 4 or 5 times this past year. It can throw line like a dream (SA GPX 6 or Orvis Powertaper 6) and will easily outcast a single hand rod when dry fly fishing and excels when using a dry/dropper set-up. It has been great when trying to reach the seam on the other side of the run. Although I can’t attest to this personally, the Sage indicator 230 grain line is supposed to load the rod nicely for nymph fishing.

This rod, brand new from the factory, cost $380 plus shipping. Since this rod is custom made, the warranty for “original owner” doesn’t apply, as there is no warranty card that came with the blank, yet they are warranteed. I have made multiple rods and this one came out quite nice. The fore/butt (4”) and front (11.25”) grips super grade cork with cork composite trim. The reel seat has a shiny gun smoke finish with a fish logo on a black background. The guides and tip top are black coated stainless steel, and the thread work is done using Gudebrod Trimar green/gold thread. All in all, I went with a darker theme when making this rod which adds to the uniqueness. I used 2 coats of flex-coat lite rod finish epoxy. I wrote “Beulah 4/5wt 10’6”” on one side of the rod above the grip and ”Custom made by Eric lastname 4/09” on the other side. If the buyer would like something else written, I could layer over my writing with a threadwrap and coat that layer of thread and write what you would like on it. The rod comes with a factory tube and sock.

I am selling the rod for $300 which includes shipping (US - 48 states).

I will post some pictures of it later tonight or tomorrow morning.
