A coordinated strategy for protecting and restoring the Delaware River Basin

Joe, that was why I was in Washington DC earlier this week. We introduced the bill on Wednesday morning and then blitzed Congressional offices the rest of the day to drum up support. Looks good so far because it's bi-partisan and we're not asking for any additional funding, just a line item within existing US Fish & Wildlife Service funding dedicated to the Delaware River Basin.

I bet most here don't know that the Delaware River Basin, while relatively tiny in land mass, supplies a full 5% of the US population with their drinking water. Cities like NY City and Philadelphia as well as Trenton and Camden all draw their drinking water from the Basin. There is a growing coalition of like-minded conservation organizations working to protect sensitive lands and restore the river and its many tribs (mostly the tribs).
