    Ausable River; 2015

Great pics! I might be heading up to the Adirondacks at the end of July. What section/area of the Ausable did you fish?

    stripers

Good info... Also new to fly fishing for stripers... Do you use cinder worms surf fishing? from boats? salt flats? I've only fished from the surf (with a salt fly) during a striper blitz at IBSP last fall. Any advice on where to use the cinder worm flies would be appreciated.

    Any KLG reports

Yea dude, you have to look for beadheads under magnetic rocks! :chair:

    Any KLG reports

Whenever I fish the KLG, I wade in a little and flip over rocks to see what's happening in the river. I've had luck with a size 14/16 beadhead prince nymph.

    More fracking earthquakes

The article from the NY Times is a bit more definitive about the cause: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/04/23/science/ap-us-sci-man-made-quakes.html?_r=0 From that article, the author mentions that: "The picture is very clear" that wastewater injection can cause faults to move, said...

    ISIS controlling fishing methods.

According the CNN ISIS article "It is an Islamic principle to care for the environment, so that's one reason that using explosives to catch fish is banned." WTF - no explosives - how the hell do you catch fish?

    Daytime bats on Toms River

For the second time, I saw bats flying and swooping down feeding on caddis flies and mayflies on the Tom's River in the middle of the day. The bats were cinnamon/tan in color. Has anyone else seen this happening? Is it common? BTW the only thing eating the flies were the bats - no trout...

Looking to purchase: Sage 707 Loop reel or extra spool

Wanted to pass this on... If you are looking to buy or sell fly fishing rods/reels, you might want to check out: Speypages - they have a "Spey Classifieds" link with a ton of stuff for sale or you can post your stuff for sale or trade. A lot of spey rods, but a lot of fly rods and reels...

WTB Sage 707 loop reel or spool

I have been using my Sage 707 loop reel forever and now want a spare spool. I need it for 8 weight line. I am really just looking for an extra spool, but would consider purchasing a 707 loop reel that is in working condition. Does anyone happen to have one for sale or know where I might be able...

    Mechanicsburg

By the way, the Susquehanna River is loaded with smallmouth bass... We used drive above the 322/22 bridge on River Road and turn off on a dirt road (Rupp Road?) that was next to a railroad track and park there. We used to wade out in the river... This no easy feat since there are deep drop...

    Mechanicsburg

There are so many good trout streams (Yellow Breeches, Clarks, Letort) it could be tough to pick just one... No, the Fishing Creek on the map, is not the famed one - it is a small troutless stream that in summer goes down to a trickle at places. I grew up in Harrisburg PA and always fly...

    The musky in NJ monthly

Yea...I know. The thermo that I purchased from L & H in Wall, NJ wasn't accurate (tested it in my fridge and in ice water)...was off by 12 to 15 degrees. New one (from Orvis) is on its way via mail.

    The musky in NJ monthly

With feeder streams leading into it (one with a waterfall), the water seemed cool -I didn't have my thermometer. As mentioned above by Rusty, there are deep holes (well over my head -probably 10 - 12 feet) and strong current in places. I do wear a PFD (with a quick pull CO2) when wading and it...
