Trout Hunter
I had a birthday last summer (70).
As I understand it, nor only do I not need a fishing license in New Jersey, but if I try to buy one, they will refuse to sell me one.
What gives with that?
Am I supposed to be some kind of charity case?
I didn't "earn" anything. It's not like being a disabled veteran..... All I did was "not die"....
A free license would solve the excise tax situation, and avoid the inconvenience/embarrassment problem....
BUT
If they want to appease the liberal weenie, "gray power" factions, wouldn't the discounted senior license, and a full priced trout stamp, be a fair compromise?
OR
At least give us the option of paying our way.

- 1. They're making me into some kind of freeloader.
2. Passers by, will see someone fishing without a license.
3. My age is none of their business, but....If anyone questions it, I have to stop fishing, come ashore, and not only admit to being an old phart, but be prepared to prove it.
4. I (and everyone else over 70) don't "count" when NJ gets it's share of the federal excise tax on fishing, hunting and boating equipment.
