I tied a few of these up in various colors for this weekend and the ones that worked best for me are down below.

Check out the 3rd one down, I can't tell you my secret on how to tie this one, but I can assure you that when you figure it out you will certainly catch more fish than anyone else! :)

If you're interested, I will make them available to anyone for $1.00 a piece. That's much cheaper than than any local sport shop.

E-Mail Me.

To tie these fly's, I used Tiemco hooks. The body is made of various Chenille colors. The thread is either brown or green, whichever I prefer while tying. I use a CDC wing then place a little elk hair on top of that. Easy fly to tie.

Step 1. Tie on thread appox 1/3 down from the eye. Tie chenile on. Use a lighter to slightly burn the tip of the chenille, this will slightly darken and taper the body giving it a more realistic look.

Step 2. Tie on CDC.

Step 3. Tie on Elk Hair

Step 4. Whip finish (or finish of your choice).

Step 5. Tie one on and go catch some fish.

If these instructions aren't good enough, contact me and we can talk about it a little more in detail. Good luck!

I'm not into tying fly's for money, but if someone requests some, they can be made available.

They look great! I just have one query. What do you think about bending back and down 2 or 3 strands on the lower sides of the head to give it "legs"? Do you think this would have a negative impact on how the fly "presents" on the water?

That would work...

Or you could tie on a little hackle and cut the top off before putting on the CDC and Elk Hair.

I'll tie one up like that when I come home tonight and post it.
