The Billy Pate Tarpon fly reel is tarpon and time tested tough, This fly reel is designed to fit nicely on a ten, eleven or twelve weight outfit. The regular arbor design provides the backing capacity of 350 yards of 30# backing with a WF 10F line, 320 yards with a WF11F and 300 yards with a WF12F. While not as light as today’s modern designs, at a weight of 13 ounces, the solid frame and lightly ported spool of 3 3/4” x 2” are built to take the punishment. This is the original.
