Short Ct. River Float 7/25

Headed to the Harpoon Brewery tonight for the BBQ championship. Thought I might run upriver a bit and put the canoe in below Sumner Falls and float back down towards Windsor. Anybody have any thoughts on access, flows, safety...? River seemed pretty mild last time I was there but I see the daily releases bouncing quite high right now. Thanks.

hoping to pick up some smallies...though i read that there could be the rare bow in that stretch...of course the lure of beer an bbq combined with hangover may be too much to overcome anyhowuking-smiley:
