Pebble Mine

I can't believe this shit is being revisited....but when you have a fucking moron in the White House anything is possible, I guess. The comment period starts March 1st...you can access the comments on Instagram through a portal on @wildsalmoncenter I am sure there will be other ways to find it. This mine is the biggest mostest horriblest stupidest idea in the history of destruction...It was put to bed by that "awful" president O'Bama, but has been awoken by the Kraken Trump....
The Army Corps of Engineers have just released their draft Environmental Impact Report.

I am sure a link will be available when the comment period starts...Please help stop this lunacy.

On another note, if you all Instagram, follow @charles_post

I could care less if people love or hate Trump, but he didn't move this forward. The mining company is moving this forward. Presidents don't apply for mining permits. As I said on GST, I fully agree this is the worst idea EVER when it comes to mining placement and that we all need to pull together to stop the insanity. It has been TU's # 1 priority for many years now.

O'Bama tried to stop the permit process from taking place..that was held up in court before being finished...Trump is at the least allowing that..the article says too toxic for Trump as well, but when you read it, it details how this administration is considering the comments, but letting the permit process to proceed, as O'Bama tied to stop it all, it was still in the courts...Pruitt is letting the process start..so, The Trump admin is allowing a second look at this project, granted Pruitt says he expects it to be stymied, but all we hear from this admin is lie after lie, and that has been documented. This article is a year old...obviously he did not suspend it or we wouldn't be having this discussion.

either way, we can all agree ,this mine is a bad idea...

Trump's EPA wants the mine to go forward, that's no secret. The current EPA head is in bed with lobbyists for the project. Nobody knows why Pruitt got cold feet. My guess is Lisa Murkowski put the brakes on it, and Trump needed her vote. But now that the GOP have a solid majority in the Senate, that might change.

Sounds like a massive lobbying effort is underway to get the project approved before 2021, when somebody who isn't in the pocket of the mining industry might conceivably occupy the white house. In the end, only public opinion or the courts will stop it.

Mudbug, do you know why Pruitt settled the case in the courts, rather than letting it play out? Is it just because of all the money he got from the oil and coal lobby. Like I said before O'Bama was, minus the "trying" trying to "put this to bed"....but Pruitt settled..why? Any more info is appreciated.
