Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Just finished tying mine last night. Can't wait to see what you fellas tied. Is it me or is the Isonychia a popular fall fly making up 5 of the 11 patterns (counting the Dun Variant).
-Question: would it be poor etiquette if I debarbed these hooks, should I just leave it up to the fisherman?
-Also, how did you send your Karel, is it legal to send them in a standard envelope or would a shipping box be required?
I believe I debarbed mine... I do it automatically when I start tying a fly, but I am not sure if I did it on that particular dozen.
I sent mine in a standard envelope via USPS. No special declaration or anything. But mine are size 20 flies, so there is not much bulk to it. The tags actually took up more space than the flies. I think if you keep it under 1oz you should be fine.
Mine are done, sort-of. I wanted to tie some extra to replace the earlier ones where I used a different color thread, but my 6 month old black lab got into the orange hackle and I came home to all these orange feathers all over the house. Anyway, they'll be out in the mail early next week.
A quick note on packaging:
Please send your flies in a hard case. Eventhough they may suit what you send in a flat package, hackles don't do well in flat envelopes on the return trip
I'm done- thought I'd throw you a look:
I had planned one of those "Epic" brookie pond trips for today but came down with a Nasty head cold so, I'm home tying.
