Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

As did LU, I too hit the river yesterday, albeit a different river and quarry. Fished from 5:45 to 7:00 last evening in the cool temperatures and a flannel shirt for some pikes. I managed to land one, miss three and have a couple follows.

Here is the fly with which I have caught quite a few pikes. It has taken quite a beating but I think there is another fish or two still in it before being retired. It is a tube fly with a special tandem hook rig of a 6/0 Partridge Universal Predator X main hook with a Gamakatsu Octopus 2/0 trailer. The trailer is 90° to the main hook point and is looped onto a titanium wire that is lashed to the 6/0 shank. In addition I will on some lash a glass rattle to the top of the main shank, just behind the hook eye.

Between the hooks, teeth and gill rakers (which are the worst), the chances of spilling blood are about 80% for each fish caught. Obviously all the barbs are crimped down.

Grab them pikes behind the eyes on top of the head but in front of the gills, almost like a pinch over the head...leave the gills alone, clean and no cuts, the fish also like it better....:)

Nice fly, I better start on my streamers or I'll end up "Beetling" this fly swap:crap:

By the way LU, if you ain't bleedin', you ain't catchin' or fishin' for pikes.
