Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Want to tie some of these up for this saturday for the west branch....and everything is pretty simple except I am not grasping how the lower material is tied to keep it uniform and pointed downwards.

Al Caucci states "Tie in Hi Vis High Style along the bottom of the hook shank finishing with one stack in front of See Eyes (this is done along the shank, rather than across it, much like stacking deer hair)."

I get this....But do you kinda tie each bunch in individual parachutes like you do posts on dries? Can someone lead me in the right direction?

Also - If I cant get "Hi Vis" from the local shop tonight - Any other substitutes that should work well?

Thanks in advance!

It appears to me that it is just tied in as if you were tying in deer hair.
Take a bunch and tie the middle of it down to the underside of the shank. Pull both ends of the material up perpendicular to the shank and repeat with another bunch jambed up against the previous bunch.

Ask the boys if they don't have it, they usually do. I would think that there are probably a couple of substitutes they should be able to put you on.

Looks good! In the future you might want to subsititue the hook for a wider gap hook. Gammagatsu BS10 is a great hook.

If you cant get Hi Viz you can substitute with wool, EP fiber or Senyo laser dub.
