Leaf hatch means hungry fish!

Hey guys,

Got out this afternoon for a few hours. I hit up Fanueil Hall last night as well as Lansdowne Street, therefore, I needed to get on the water and shake the cobwebs outta my head...Fishing is the best hangover cure!

I fished a smaller river today, one where the bows are super agressive and eating all the brown/sucker eggs in sight...Some bows come out of the deep ressie that this river flows into JUST to eat the eggs, much like the steelhead migration. Its very cool and sure does make for a fun afternoon.

The fish were hitting Ausable uglies stripped very quickly as well as, yes, THE BEAD. I have a few thousands custom colors painted up (yes, im sick in the head) so I put on a few to see if they worked. Sure enough, BAM!

*Pulaski Sod was my top producer today Second in line was a size 8 Ausable UGLY!

Was a great few hours fighting fierce bows on my little 8'3'' 3 wt. Its back to the big water on Thursday for chrome...Man, Ill surely miss that little 3 wt after chucking my 10' 7 weight and billy pate around all day on the Salmon... ouchhhh.

Good report there Simms! The leaf hatch should soon be over on the Salmon 50mph winds last night and some heavy rain enough to bring the river up 100cfs was nice to see. Fishing was good yesterday some nice mud sharks to hand as well as a few chromers and some nice domestic rainbows. Only going to get better in the next few weeks..

Ill be up this coming weekend. Like you said, hoping this rain and wind knock down the leaves b4 I get there. lol!

With rain in the forecast, im hoping the chrome pile into the river this week!!!
