G3 guide vest HELP

Hi all, i am new in this Forum..and i got a question for you.
I would like to buy a Simms G3 guide vest (the orange one) but i have got a little iusse with Simms 's size chart. (i am italian and here sizes are totally different).
So:
My chest girth is obout 40-41 inch.
According to Simms's size chart i should buy an S sized vest (44 inch), is it right? Do you think it will be confortable?

The question is stupid, i know...but 44 inch for a Size S is very strange. (i hope Simms did not change the size chart with the new collection...).

any help is really appreciated

Get A medium. Don't forget you are going to put your vest on over clothes. In all Honesty, if I were you, I'd look into a chest pack. Much more comfortable and you can carry more. Plus, it's probably a lot cheaper than a simms G3 vest.

I went to the Simms website and confirmed what you write about the size. I have a 39 inch chest and wear a medium size vest from Columbia Sportswear. I find it hard to belive that 44 is small!:crap:

If I were you, I wouldn't purchase one without trying it on.
Where are you located in Italy? I was born in Avelino but don't speak Italian that well. I would be willing to help you out since you're a paisano. I can got to a store that stocks Simms and try one on for you and then let you know how it fits.

Don't warry, I will find a way to solv this problem. Probably in this forum there is someone who just dressed this vest ..so i only need to wait.

I'm telling you as someone who wears SIMMS products. Get at least a Medium if you don't plan on wearing a lot of clothes under your vest.

now i tell you what i have understood searching in internet:
Simms has different size chart according to every type of product.
there is a wader's size chart, a clothing's size chart, a vest's size chart and so on.
They are all different.
The size chart for vest is this one

there is a wader's size chart, a clothing's size chart, a vest's size chart and so on.
They are all different.

That's odd. Well buy it in the size you think and then mail it back if it doesn't fit. I still say get a chest pack. They are one size fits all and much nicer to wear.

Probably you have got right about chest pack...but i like "old classic style" vest more

Why don't you call up the local Italian Simms Dealer, "Il Gatto con gli Stivali" in Milano, tel. 028 940 6796. I am sure they will be able to help you with the sizing conversion and fitting of the G3 vest.

Beacause i have got more confidence in users rather than in sellers
