Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Conklin Brook above Neversink Reservoir

do you consider it sporting to fish for brookies in a stream that looks like that in summer conditions? And I don't care about whether the water temps were cold, the stream is beyond low.

I couldn't fish there....I don't cast well enough to hit that piss stream of water....maybe once it rains another 25 inches......WTF?

Beaver, chances are they maintain that road for security reasons. It's a drinking water supply reservoir, so it needs to be patrolled routinely. One of the biggest threats to Homeland Security is the poisoning of our drinking water supplies. And yet, they remain some of our most vulnerable areas of infrastructure.

The water is too cold. It's usually around 55 degrees. I tried last time I was out there and my feet were freezing.

Look sister, I was wet wading 55 degree water all week last week...its friggin' 90 degrees out, 55 degree water makes it comfortable.....does that creek water go above your toes anyway?

I used to worry about that but apparently it's pretty impractical. At least according to some dude on the internet 5 years ago. I hope it's not practical. Tough to guard a whole watershed. I would sign up for that job if it existed.

I have very sensitive toes. Poor circulation.

Actually, the stream was not low. It is a tiny stream. We had lots a rain last Monday and the big rivers were still coming down to wading levels.

No matter what I do, some one is always pissed off. I have to fish after heavy rain, air temp in 70s, water 55, plenty of wind to oxygenate the water and just right moon to earth alignment otherwise I am SOB. And don't even get me going on these crazy VEGANS that post comments on my videos how I torture the fish and cause so much harm.

It's summer. I fish for brookies because the water is cold, I get to stay in the shade and enjoy the woods with long hikes. Sorry if that bothers you.

if that is considered good flows- then the fish should be left alone. U call that a challenge? You are pulling fish out of pools the size of my kitchen sink . go for a hike leave the rod in the car

Very nice. I tried hiking in there from the Woodland Rd side last year but the brush was to heavy and I didn't want to get turned around so I retreated. Looking forward to giving the Conklin a try. Thanks!
